Barrel sauna versus cabin sauna
A barrel suits someone who likes a rounded profile and benches along the sides. Check how much of the overall length is heated room: on the listed 7 × 6 and 7 × 8 barrel models, the 2-foot porch option takes 2 feet from that room. The 7 × 12 barrel lists a 4-foot changeroom within its overall length.
The Summit is our cabin design, built in-house at our Shelburne shop. Its L-shaped seating and three bench tiers offer a different arrangement from the barrel’s two benches. The walls use solid 3 × 6 cedar logs. Choose it for that construction and layout, then discuss the size and optional porch or changeroom with us.
Cube, Luna or Birdhouse?
Cube models list two-tier benches and three double-pane tinted windows. Luna models combine a curved profile with two-tier seating and offer separate porch versions. Birdhouse has a peaked roof and a narrower footprint; compare its actual exterior dimensions with the space available beside your house or cottage.
What size sauna should you buy?
- Count the people who will usually use it together, not just the largest gathering you might host.
- Decide whether sitting, reclining or stretching out matters most. Ask for usable bench lengths and heights.
- Measure the sauna footprint, door opening, access route and the space needed for the selected heater installation.
- Account for any porch or changeroom before comparing sauna-room size.
